A series of 3 clinical assessments were held for each group at University Hospital. At these Saturday assessments, both workshop and control group members turned in self-report survey data, participated in a fasting blood draw conducted by Clinical Research Center nurses, arm ergometry testing led by trained technicians, and a weight measure and neurological exam by a physiatrist. A light snack was provided to all participants following the blood draw by the General Clinical Research Center. These assessments were conducted at baseline, two weeks after the completion of the workshop series, and four months after completion of the workshop series.
