Let's Move Active Schools: Inclusive Physical Education and Physical Activity Video Contest
We want your video! Show us how you provide inclusive PE/PA by Dec. 6 to win!
Are you making appropriate adaptations and modifications to physical education activities such as exercises, games, rhythms, and sports to ensure students of all ability levels are able to engage in physical activity? If so, we want to see an example of how your school provides inclusive physical education and/or physical activity. Submit a short video (max 5 mins.) of at least one best practice for meeting the needs of students with disabilities for a chance to win one of 10 cash prizes of up to $1,000. Wining videos will be featured through Let’s Move! Active Schools. Enter by Dec. 6!
NACCHO Health and Disability Fellowship Program
The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is currently recruiting for the Health and Disability Fellowship program. This fellowship is an invaluable workforce development opportunity for graduate level students and recent alumni interested in getting hands on experience in the public health disability field. International Day of Persons with Disabilities- December 3rd, 2016
Since 1992, the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) has been celebrated annually on December 3rd around the world. The theme for this year’s International Day is “Achieving 17 Goals for the Future We Want”. This theme notes the recent adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the role of these goals in building a more inclusive and equitable world for persons with disabilities. This year’s objectives include assessing the current status of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and SDGs and laying the foundation for a future of greater inclusion for persons with disabilities.

2017 National Walking Summit: Call for Proposals
America Walks and the Every Body Walk! Collaborative are excited to announce the call for proposals for the 2017 National Walking Summit to be held in St. Paul, MN from September 13-15, 2017. The theme of the 2017 National Walking Summit is "Vital and Vibrant Communities: The Power of Walkability." The conference will explore how walking and walkability create engaged, thriving, and inclusive communities for all members. Walkability is at the cornerstone of creating neighborhoods that are vital and vibrant, allowing all members of a community to enjoy health, social and economic benefits in a variety of forms. Safe Routes to Parks Action Framework
Safe Routes to Parks is an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association to increase access to local parks. Developed in collaboration with the Safe Routes to School National Partnership, the Safe Routes to Parks Action Framework provides local governments with evidence- and practice-based guidance on creating safe and equitable access to parks for all people.

Universal Trail Access Information Project
Universal Trail Access maps and trail markers have been installed throughout Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama with information regarding trail conditions such as grade, cross slope, tread width, surfaces, man-made and natural features. Now all park goers are able to experience and enjoy outdoor recreation!
