Use and Care of the Elastic Resistance Band

  • Make sure you are using a latex-free version if an allergy is present.
  • Before starting, always check the band for damage.
  • Make sure that the elastic band is wrapped firmly (but not too tightly!) around your fists.
  • Adjust the length of the band so that there is just enough slack/resistance and you are able to go through the full or comfortable range of motion when exercising.
  • Avoid having the band pinch or pull body hair by covering the area of skin that the band is touching.
  • Control the band to avoid snapping back.
  • The resistance increases when you decrease the distance between your hand and the band. You can shorten this distance by folding the band over.
  • As you increase strength, move to another color band for increased resistance.
  • Store the band in a cool, dark location so it will last longer.
  • Keep away from pets and children.
