  • Enjoy the last moments of summer! Consult the NCHPAD Web site for a variety of ideas on how to recreate safely and have fun. Visit the zoo (http://www.ncpad.org/67/491/Zoo~Visit~-~Benefits); or museums (http://www.ncpad.org/61/453/Museums~~Zoos~and~Aquariums~-~Enhancing~Accessibility); enjoy camping and backpacking (http://www.ncpad.org/66/489/Camping~~Backpacking~~and~Hiking).
  • Fitness Videos: NCHPAD is in the process of reviewing available information on videos for persons with disabilities. If you know of any good videos, please send the titles to Information Specialist Sheila Swann-Guerrero at swanngue@uic.edu, and we'll send you a free NCHPAD pen.
  • Do you know of a disability-friendly exercise, sports, or recreation program in your community? Do you operate or work out in an accessible facility that you would like to have listed in our programs database? If so, complete our 7-minute survey, and we'll send you a free NCHPAD T-shirt! To obtain a copy of the survey, contact Cheeri Ong at cheeri@uic.edu. NCHPAD will add your responses to our online searchable database and send you a beautiful NCHPAD T-shirt!
  • Resources for Children: As NCHPAD continues to expand its Web site to include more fitness and recreation information for children with disabilities, we welcome your recommendations on programs, organizations, or facilities as well as Web sites that promote physical activity and recreation for children of ALL abilities. Please contact Cheeri Ong, Information Specialist at cheeri@uic.edu with your suggestions.
