From the Editor's Desk: Positive Changes for the New Year

As we usher in a new year, the staff at NCHPAD wishes you healthy living and happiness this 2007!

In this edition, we feature our new video clips on karate for persons with disabilities, and an inspirational column on the benefits of exercise while living with Hereditary Spastic Parapernesis. We debut a new factsheet on children with disabilities and obesity, along with our Secondary Conditions and research abstract columns on similar topics. Our nutrition column provides useful information on avoiding unhealthy salt intake, which complements other nutrition resources archived on the NCHPAD website. Additionally, we provide exciting news on initiatives and conferences, and more, such as the launch of Inclusive Fitness Coalition.

Read on for more information, and please send your questions and comments to Jennifer Gray-Stanley, NCHPAD News Editor, at jegray@uic.edu.
