Abstract

Dr. Deb Baceski of Somerset, Pennsylvania, established the county's first therapeutic riding program for disabled children in 1995. Baceski founded the program to teach her daughters kindness and cooperation. As she wanted the program to be free, she recruited volunteers and raised over $5,000 in donations and is helped by donations of equipment from the local tack shop. Every Wednesday from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M., she hosts some eight children with spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and mental retardation
