Roberta Carlin, MA, MS, JD is currently the Executive Director of the American Association on Health and Disability (AAHD) www.aahd.us in Rockville, MD. She has been involved in the disability field for over 30 years, working in the areas of health promotion and wellness for people with disabilities, primary prevention, reducing health disparities, disability research, government relations, grassroots advocacy, information dissemination and partnership development.. Under Ms. Carlins direction the peer reviewed, and Medline indexed Disability and Health Journal was launched in 2008. Ms. Carlin created the AAHD Health Promotion Resource Center (HPRC) and today the HPRC is a major clearinghouse for contemporary scientific, programmatic and policy information on disability and health Ms. Carlin currently serves as the Chair of the Friends of NCBDDD, a coalition of over 400 organizations. She also serves on the Executive Council of the APHA Disability Section.. Ms. Carlin has years of experience overseeing federal grants and contracts, as well as contracts from private entities. Ms. Carlin has been an invited speaker at numerous national meetings and conferences on topics related to disability and health for people with disabilities.. Before coming to AAHD in 2002, Ms. Carlin was the Associate Executive Director of the Spina Bifida Association of America in Washington, DC
