Director of Inclusive Public Health Practice

Image of Allison Hoit Tubbs Allison Hoit Tubbs, MS, CHES, ACSM EP-C, is a certified exercise physiologist and health educator. She is the Director of Inclusive Public Health Practice for the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD), a federally funded National Center on Disability and health promotion resource and practice center of the CDC. Her work is focused on building inclusive, healthy communities where all people have equal access and opportunities for healthy living. Her experience spans across the areas of industrial rehabilitation, health promotion, wellness coaching, health communication/dissemination and physical activity programming for people with disability. Ms. Tubbs has developed and implemented public health advocacy campaigns including, Commit to Inclusion, in partnership with the Presidents Council on Fitness, Sports, & Nutrition and How I Walk, in support of the U.S. Surgeon Generals Call to Action on Walking. Ms. Tubbs has been published in MediaplanetUSA distributed through USA Today, the ACSMs Fit Society Page, Sports N Spokes magazine, the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and the Journal of Clinical Exercise Physiology. She consults with national partners on operationalizing their inclusive health work through assessing organizational readiness for inclusion, providing training and selecting inclusion solutions. During her non-work hours, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter on their 10-acre farm in Clanton, Alabama, a small town known for its peach industry!
