PEP Toolkit
While pedometers have become popular personal feedback and monitoring devices in the recent literature on physical activity, the use of such devices is not always accessible for people with low levels of physical activity, such as persons with mobility limitations.
PEP Toolkit consists of a Yamax SW-200 pedometer and a custom Velcro strap that allows the user to attach it in a variety of locations on either the upper or lower limbs so that it records activity levels in an appropriate manner for persons with mobility limitations.
The PEP Toolkit also contains helpful information on physical activity such as understanding blood pressure, heart rate and how to measure your work load and a National Center on Physical Activity and Disability (NCPAD) educational brochure.
In addition to the tracking device, the toolkit provides information on how to track your daily steps or movements, healthy snacks and adequate water intake. This toolkit is a great starting point to any physical activity program.
