Camp Buck is the premier camp program of the Nevada Diabetes Association for Children and Adults. This co-ed camp provides children, ages 8 to 17, a week long summer camping experience for children with diabetes. The camp offers a unique combination of learning and fun. The children develop a better understanding of their diabetes while participating in a week of recreational and athletic activities. Through the education provided by the medical staff and the leadership of the counselors, campers learn the importance of good self-management of their diabetes.
Located on the short of beautiful Lake Tahoe, this University of Nevada 4-H camp site has its own beach, log cabins, and towering pine trees. There is a grassy area for field games, an arts and crafts building, a multi-purpose hall, and amphitheater that has seen high drama and slap-stick, and of course a campfire area for those special moments of togetherness.
