Set on a beautiful wooded site and bordering 55-acre Lake Probus, Camp Horizons' camping and resort facilities are fully equipped to accommodate a wide range of activities and programs.
Facilities include a spacious program center with a computer/media center, fitness center, hobby center and trading post. In addition, there is a dining hall and kitchen, infirmary, laundry, and a recreation hall housing a full basketball court, stage and game room.
Campers ride horses at the riding ring with tack house, and enjoy the arts & crafts, woodworking and pottery barn. Acres of trees and open space provide the setting for a waterfront with a sandy beach, docks and boats.
The swimming pool, lighted outdoor tennis courts, miniature golf course, basketball court, playing fields and the many cabins to house campers and staff are enjoyed by all.
Camp Horizons offers all of the experiences you might expect to find in a summer camp…and more! Our 5:1 camper-counselor ratio, plus program instructors and staff, allows us to work closely with each camper to provide individualized attention to his or her special area of need, including maintenance of academic skills, socialization, personal hygiene, independence, and development of leisure time skills. Campers attend three programs in the morning and four in the afternoon. Evening activities are opportunities for the entire camp to come together for entertainment such as campfires, dances, movies, field games and music.
The mission of Camp Horizons is to provide high quality residential, recreational, support and work programs for people with developmentally disabilities and individuals who have other challenging social and emotional needs. To fulfill this mission, we are committed to continuous improvement in our programs, facilities, and staffing. We understand and respond to the changing needs of program participants, families and communities. The Camp Horizons vision serves as a guide to our efforts.
