Method
Subjects with CIDP and GBS participated in 3-days-per-week, 12-week bicycle training program, consisting of a 5-minute warm-up, 30 minutes of cycling at an intensity of 70% to 90% of maximum heart rate, and a cool down. All measurements taken at baseline were repeated at the end of the training. Outcome measures included training feasibility, reduction of fatigue (improving on the FSS by at least 1 point), and changes in scores on the Rotterdam Activity Monitor (RAM), Fatigue Impact Scale (FIS), GBS disability score, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD), Rotterdam Handicap Scale (RHS), and the quality of life Short Form-36 Health Questionnaire (SF-36).
