Marketing Strategies
Promoting involvement in new programs can be a challenge. Municipal Partners for Inclusive Recreation uses a variety of marketing methods to promote participation in the parks and recreation department programs. This includes providing information in city newsletters and department brochures. These brochures include welcoming statements inviting everyone to participate as well as information regarding the process for registering and discussing accommodations. Other marketing strategies include a regional brochure, flyers, presentations, and networking. The best form of marketing for MPIR, however, is through word-of-mouth from satisfied participants and parents, social workers, social service agencies, and other health care professionals. Using a combination of these strategies ensures that individuals throughout the community are aware of the inclusive recreation services.
