The methodology behind much of the instrumentation used for disability assessment is way too broad and often does not tailor to the specific needs of each individual. Consequently, this lack of precision needs to be revised in order to receive sound results from future studies in this area of research. CAT has been used in other areas of research (i.e., some standardized testing in schools) and is seen as a valid method of testing. The possibility of using CAT in the healthcare field is a very promising avenue for improving measurement in disability assessment.
