Method

The two experimental groups participated in the treadmill-walking program (low-endurance walking at 0% incline) 3 times per week, for 15 weeks. The duration increased from 5 to 15 minutes initially up to 40 minutes over the course of the study, at an individually-tolerable speed. Lower-limb hemodynamics (photoplethysmography (PPG) and ankle-brachial pressure (ABI)) were taken before and after the test, along with heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration rate. ANOVA was used to determine the effect of pain levels, and an alpha level <0.05 was accepted for the statistical significance.
