Orchid: Health and Wellness for Women with Disabilities

Special Edition, is produced by the NC Office on Disability and Health, http://www.ncpad.org/676/2938/2002-08-01.

The publication underscores the truth that individuals with disabilities can be healthy, and reviews a variety of topics affecting health, including physical activity, leisure, health care, nutrition, mind, and relationships. The physical activity section offers tips on joining a health club, a guide on removing barriers to health clubs/fitness facilities, information on physical activity benefits, helpful resources and contact information, and inspiring personal stories.

Both the website and printed publication layouts are visually appealing, with useful quizzes on health knowledge, diagrams, and contacts.

To order copies of the Orchid magazine, call the NC Office on Disability and Health at (919) 966-2932 or email odhpubs@mail.fpg.unc.edu. You may also write: NCODH CB#8185, UNC-CH Chapel Hill, NC 27599-8185
