World Congress & Expo on Disabilities, Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC, November 15-17, 2007

WCD Expo is dedicated to improving the lives of those with developmental and physical disabilities, their families and professionals who work with them. This year's program will feature over 70 multi-disciplinary sessions sponsored by the WCD Foundation for Education, Inc, with the support of leading professional societies and organizations. During this intensive three-day educational experience, information and ideas on today's most important issues will be exchanged between people with disabilities, their families and caregivers, physicians, direct support professionals, allied health care professionals, educators and adapted physical education specialists.

2007 National Prevention and Health Promotion Summit, Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, Washington, DC, November 27-29, 2007

Hartford Ski Spectacular 2007, Frisco Nordic Center, Breckenridge, CO, Dec 2-9, 2007

The Hartford Ski Spectacular is one of the nation's largest winter sports festivals for people with disabilities. Participants of all ages are encouraged to enjoy snow sports made accessible by adaptive equipment and lessons from seasoned professionals and skilled volunteers. The Hartford Ski spectacular is hosting a fun beginner ski race in Nordic Skiing in addition to having some mid-level clinics for never-ever through elite level skiers. Clinics and races are FREE to all registered participants of the Hartford Ski Spectacular. Equipment is available to rent onsite for $10/day. 23rd Annual Free Special Camp Fair, Presented by Resources for Children with Special Needs, Inc., Jan. 26, 2008

Parents and caregivers of children and teens with disabilities can plan ahead for summer with the wealth of information offered at the 23rd annual free Special Camp Fair on Saturday, January 26, 2008 from 11 AM to 3 PM. at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, (Entrance to Fair on Columbus Ave. near W. 60th St.) NYC . The Fair is presented by Resources for Children with Special Needs, Inc., (212) 677-4650, www.resourcesnyc.org.

Representatives from 70 New York City day camps and sleep-away camps in the northeast will be on hand to help parents and professionals plan productive summer experiences for children with disabilities. The Fair will also feature information on travel programs, remedial education programs, volunteer and job opportunities and early childhood programs. Spanish and sign language interpreters will be available.
