Discussion
This study supports that supervised multidimensional exercise-training is a safe and effective intervention that can reduce physical impairments and improve functional limitations in older community-dwelling men and women more than unsupervised home exercise. Also, it provides evidence that it can prevent or postpone frailty that can lead to loss of independence. Further research is recommended to examine the long-term effects of this ET program and to determine its usefulness for a broader population.
