Foster's Community Grants

Foster's Community Grants support projects in three core focus areas: wellness, culture, and the environment. "Wellness" is defined as both physical and mental health, "culture" as artistic, sport, and educational activities, and "environment" as all aspects of the natural environment. Grants are assessed principally on the quality of the community benefit they would deliver. Applications are open to charities and not-for-profit organizations in Australia and the United States. The deadline for applications is September 29, 2006.

The Mattel Children's Foundation Grants


The Mattel Children's Foundation supports organizations with 501(3) status that serve children in need and their communities. Awards of $5,000 to $25,000 will be awarded to charitable organizations that demonstrate direct service to children with disabilities and other needs. Funding priorities include organizations or programs that support the physical health and well-being of children, with particular emphasis on promoting healthy, active lifestyles. Applications are due June 30, 2006.

The New York Community Trust Grants

The New York Community Trust funds projects on a variety of topics, including persons with disabilities, and children, youth, and families. Funding priorities within the area of health and special needs include projects that strengthen preventive health care, improve access to services, promote the efficient use of health resources, and develop the skills and independence of persons with disabilities. Grants are made primarily to nonprofit organizations located in the five boroughs of New York City, and range from $5,000 to $10,000 for one year.

Milagro Foundation Grants

The Milagro Foundation supports underrepresented and underprivileged children and youth in the areas of the arts, education, and health. The Foundation seeks grant applications from community-based, grassroots organizations that work with children and youth, especially those at risk due to such factors as poor health, illiteracy, or insufficient educational and cultural opportunities. Funding priorities include projects that help children and youth live healthy lives through education and prevention of disease, and awards range from $2,500-$5,000.

MetLife Foundation Health Grants

Funding priority areas for MetLife Foundation's Health Grants include those for national health promotion and education initiatives. Funding amounts vary. Non-profit organizations with 501(c)3 status are eligible to apply.
