From the Editor's Desk: Observing the Observances

This month, our written features seem to well represent the monthly observances that we are recognizing. For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are featuring the video footage we captured of this year's All Abilities Team at the Chicago Breast Cancer 3Day. For Spina Bifida Awareness Month, we are providing some nutritional considerations in the Nutrition Corner. And for mental illness and mental health awareness, we have a director's column discussing how belonging to a fitness center can possibly affect (positively) feelings of loneliness and social isolation. In addition, please take some time to review our various resources in the Information Specialist's section that are related to several other health-related observances for October.

Send your questions and comments to Blythe Hiss, NCHPAD News Editor, at sbonne2@uic.edu.
