From the Information Specialist's Desk: Join All Abilities Team!

The annual Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer walk is fast approaching - it will be held August 6-8 in Chicago. This 3-day, 60-mile walk is a great way to raise awareness and support the fight against breast cancer. NCHPAD is still recruiting for the All Abilities Team, which consists of participants with and without disabilities. If you want to join and show your support for this amazing cause, please contact Melissa McCall at 312-355-4540 or mmccal1@uic.edu.

Attention, all Certified Personal Trainers: NCHPAD is currently running the Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer (CIFT) webinars. A total of six series, with a different topic each week, is running through June. For more information and to register, please visit the American College of Sports Medicine's (ACSM) website. http://www.acsm.org/Content/NavigationMenu/Certification/CIFTWebinar/CIFT_Webinar.htm.

Also, we would like to mention the June Be Active Your Way Blog. NCPAD's Information Specialist Blythe Hiss will be one of five guest bloggers to blog on the topic of "Promoting Physical Activity to Boomers and Older Adults via Marketing and Programs." This blog is run by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and you can visit its site by going to www.health.gov/paguidelines/blog/.
