From the Editor's Desk: Fitness Center Accessibility and More

How well does your fitness center work for you? Does it have a high enough level of accessibility to meet your needs? Or your neighbor's needs? This month we feature a series of articles on fitness center and playground accessibility, as well as how to choose a fitness center that meets your needs. We also introduce a new column, "What Have I Learned This Month," in which the challenges that persons in disadvantaged communities face in leading healthy lives (such as reading a food label) are discussed. Other topics include a video clip on a best practices water wellness program, a book review on Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and some nutrition ideas for those who require extra calories for weight maintenance. Also, consult our job, event, and grant listings, and please send any new information to jegray@uic.edu. Thank you!
