In the aging population, arthritis is one of the most common health conditions that results in physical inactivity for many individuals. In fact, it was once believed that physical activity actually worsened the symptoms that are commonly linked with arthritis. However, most research now shows that regular, moderate exercise offers many benefits to people with arthritis including a reduction in joint pain and stiffness, the building of strong muscles around the joints, and increasing flexibility and endurance while also decreasing inflammation that is often associated with the condition.
