Director's Column: Physical Activity is a Great Occupier of Time for Loved Ones with Alzheimer�s


My wife and her sister decided to take a much deserved four-day vacation to have a few moments away from the rigors of work and serving as co-caregiver for their father who is in the mid-stages of Alzheimer�s disease. My four-day stay with my father-in-law was an invaluable reminder of how important it is to keep the mind connected to the body. As one begins to lose memory and all the routines that go with it, it is critical to find ways to keep the person physically active.
