We can often contribute to making our environments more conducive for health promotion, whether as parents, in a family setting, and/or in our communities. In this month's director's column, Dr. Rimmer suggests that when we work collectively to create environments that are accessible for persons with and without disabilities to engage in recreation and fitness, we make our society a better place.
In this month's featured videoclip on autism, we discuss ideas for family involvement in physical activity and recreation, and our nutrition column touches upon how parents can introduce new foods for children with disabilities. Fun family fitness tips are introduced in our FITT column, which can help parents combat child obesity issues. Other features include the GameCycle from Three Rivers, another "Voice from the Community" article from an individual with cerebral palsy using NCPAD's services, and a book review on accessible golf.
