2nd World Summit on Physical Education, Magglingen, Switzerland, December 2-3, 2005

This summit is being organized by the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE/CIEPSS) and its members and partners, as well as the Swiss Office of Sport (BASPO). The scientifically recognized benefits of quality physical education contribute to the achievement of the goals defined by the U.N. in the context of sport for development and peace, and to the goals of the International Year of Sport and Physical Education 2005. Issues of adapted physical education and inclusive sport for children with disabilities will be one cross-cutting theme of the conference.

International Congress on Physical Activity and Public Health, Atlanta, GA, April 17-20, 2006

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Physical Activity and Health Branch, in partnership with the Association of State and Territorial Chronic Disease Program Directors, is sponsoring this congress to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the release of the U.S. Surgeon General’s Report on Physical Activity and Health; create a forum for researchers and practitioners to interact; and provide a venue for focused communication about current work and advances in the science and practice of physical activity and public health.
