Dr. James Rimmer, NCHPAD Director, Participates in Health Congressional Briefing: Dr. James Rimmer joined the external partners group of the National Center for Birth Defects and Development Disabilities (NCBDDD) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), fellow researchers, and the Association of University Centers on Disabilities at the Disability at the health congressional briefing in Washington, DC, on March 16, 2006.

The purpose of the briefing was to inform Members of Congress and their staffs regarding the rate of disabilities, especially as it differs from state to state, as well as the differences in health status of people with disabilities. Congressional staff and advocates were given informational tools and data on state and national health promotion interventions designed for people with disabilities.
