From the Editor's Desk: We’re Off to a Great Start!

Happy New Year!

As we head into 2006, the staff at NPCAD offers you the inspiration and information you need to adopt healthier habits, with particular considerations for your disability and/or health condition(s).

Special features in this edition include: Dr. Rimmer’s director’s column on setting achievable health promotion goals; Amy Rauworth’s FITT column on how to hire the right personal trainer; Alan Robinson’s inspiring message of hope and health for all persons with disabilities; and Zach Rufa’s infectious zeal for playing golf.

Moreover, our new video clip highlights exercise for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities, and the nutrition corner provides information on the benefits and concerns about eating fish.

Please send your comments or questions to Jennifer Gray-Stanley at jegray@uic.edu.
